Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport announced that Emirates will launch nonstop daily service between DFW and Dubai (DXB) International Airport starting on February 2, 2012.  The announcement marks DFW’s first nonstop flight to the Middle East, a key strategic goal for the airport.

The Emirates daily service is anticipated to produce $227 million in economic impact every year to the Dallas/Fort Worth region by way of additional visitors, business ties and investments, according to DFW Airport estimates.

Queensland’s tourism industry says Queen Elizabeth’s visit next month will help put Brisbane back on the map for international tourists.

The Queen has added day trips to Brisbane and Melbourne to her 10-day Australian itinerary that coincides with her appearance at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth from October 28 to 30.

She will pay a visit to Brisbane with the Duke of Edinburgh on October 24 and is expected to make a public appearance, although her itinerary is not yet finalised.
