Now is the perfect time to book discount airfare to the Caribbean with British Airways.

British Airways is increasing the number of flights to the Caribbean beginning March 27, 2011 due to the success of its long-haul leisure routes departing from London Gatwick.

The airline shows its commitment to the Caribbean with a total of 15 destinations to choose from, which makes it even easier and more convenient than ever before for customers to plan their Caribbean holidays.

Travel to the Caribbean for a Fall Vacation

Now is a great time to purchase discount airfare to Martinique.

With beautiful white-sand beaches and a culture brimming with French flair, Martinique is part of the Lesser Antilles and lies in the semitropical zone; its western shore faces the Caribbean, and its eastern shore fronts the more turbulent Atlantic. The irregular coastline of the island has five bays, dozens of coves, and miles of sandy beaches. Almost a third of the island’s year-round population of 360,000 lives in the capital and largest city, Fort-de-France.

The island is cooled by a wind the French called alizȳ, and rains are frequent but don’t last very long. Late August to November is the rainy season. April through September are the hottest months.

Bird-watchers are often pleased at the number of hummingbirds, and visitors can also see mountain whistlers, blackbirds, and mongooses. Multicolored butterflies flit about, and after sunset, there’s a concert of grasshoppers, frogs, and crickets.

Take a Vacation to the Caribbean in the Fall

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Plan a fall vacation with discount airfare to the Caribbean.

St. Lucia is one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean, with some of its finest resorts. The heaviest tourist development is concentrated in the northwest, between the capital, Castries, and the northern end of the island, where there’s a string of white-sand beaches.

The rest of St. Lucia remains relatively unspoiled, a checkerboard of green-mantled mountains, valleys, banana plantations, a bubbling volcano, wild orchids, and fishing villages. The island has a mixed French and British heritage, but there’s a hint of the South Pacific about it as well.
