Travel to China and Experience Shanghai

Would you love to find discount airfare to Shanghai, China?

Shanghai has seemingly once again become the latest “It” city of the world. Much like in the first half of the 20th century, visitors from around the world are flocking here, drawn by curiosity, a sense of possibility, the lure of potential professional and financial success, or perhaps simply a desire to be in the coolest, brashest, and most exciting city in the new century. While Shanghai lacks the classical Chinese monuments of Beijing, its colonial legacy gives it a character all its own. This museum of East meets West on Chinese soil is also China’s capital of commerce, industry, and finance, and the one city that best shows where China is headed at the dawn of the 21st century.

Shanghai’s parks are splendid places for a stroll, combining scenic vistas with people-watching. They are particularly lively at dawn, when locals gather for their morning exercises ranging from taiji quan (tai chi) to ballroom dancing. Due to the scarcity of play space for children, nearly all parks have a children’s section, however small or dilapidated.

Tropical Storm Hinders Travel in China

Find discount airfare to China this fall.

Approximately 170 tourists were stranded in East China’s Zhejiang Province as tropical storm Kompasu approached. The tourists had to stay in Nanji Island of Wenzhou City as Kompasu triggered strong winds on the sea, shutting down ship services linking Nanji to the mainland, Xinhua news agency reported.

The tourists arrived on Friday for sightseeing and had planned to return to the mainland to go home. However they were forced to stay in hotels until ship services resume after the wind weakens.

Now is a great time to purchase cheap airfare to Taiwan.

An agreement during summer 2008 ended a cap on Chinese tourists and added more cross-strait flights to carry them. After a slow beginning, Chinese tourists arrivals are now up to some 3,400 per day. This week, there was news that Taiwan might allow up to 500 individual tourists arrivals per day from select cities in China beginning as early as next spring.

The Taiwanese definately have mixed feelings about all this. Tour agencies, hotel operators, and airlines love the increase in revenues. Maybe it’s just cultures clashing, but it isn’t ofter to find a Taiwanese that is eager about throwing open the doors to the Chinese.
