Throughout March, stalls pop up all over Mumbai selling piles of fresh mangos of every variety. The Mango Festival aims to help mango farmers from the Konkan region, who can sell without the intervention of middlemen during this month.
Mango-lovers can also sample local speciality amba poli made from the juicy yellow fuit, as well as jelly and jams. A series of cultural events are put on to during the Mango Festival too.
