A desert adventure aboard a 4x4 is a must for all visitors to Dubai. Join an organised group or hire your own toy and head for an unusual rollercoster ride up and down the dunes. There are several sites just outside Dubai from where to start a fun-filled day, but the most famous is Big Red, a huge area of sand dunes located on the road to Hatta.
