The Emirates Palace Hotel, a no-expense-spared monument to prosperity, is one of Abu Dhabi's most popular landmarks and the venue for many of the city's cultural initiatives. The recently-introduced programme of free daily tours, run by the hotel in order to manage streams of tourists, now ranks among Abu Dhabi's must-do attractions and are led by eager-to-please historians with plenty of local knowledge.
